Robert Collis has over 40 years experience specialising in all areas of Family Law.

He is a highly regarded senior Family Court Lawyer in New Zealand.

Rob appears frequently in the Family Court and High Court, and occasionally the Court of Appeal. Numerous cases over the years feature and have been reported in the law reports.

 

Rob is also on the panel of lawyers selected to act as the Court appointed lawyer to represent children as well as lawyer to assist the Court.

Rob practices in all areas of Family Law including:

 

• Relationship Property & Trust Litigation - division of property on divorce

• Preparation of Contracting Out Agreements (Prenups)

• Care of Children - custody and contact of children with their parents

• Family Court Appeal hearings in the High Court

• Family Violence cases in the Family Court  - protection orders and appearances in the District Court for those charged with Family Violence offences.

• Spousal Maintenance issues

• Protection of Personal and Property Rights - representing families of incapacitated persons

• Attending and participating in private mediations as an alternative to court proceedings.

Rob will accept instructions throughout New Zealand and is willing to travel as requested for meetings or Court attendances.

Rob has extensive involvement with the Piha Surf Club being a past Club Captain and Inaugural Trustee of the Piha SLSC Trust and a recipient of a 50-year service award
